Wedding Thank You’s – A List Of Must Haves When Writing Your Thank You Cards
1. Be Personal and Use Their Names: No one likes to get a thank you card where all it says is ‘Thank you for your gift’. It makes them feel unappreciated and the card immediately goes in the garbage. Be personal with close family and friends, using nicknames and short memories.
2. Thank Them Specifically For The Gift That They Got You – This can be hard because you receive so many gifts at your wedding. One thing you can do is when you open each one write down their names and what the gift was that they got you. This way when you are writing your thank you cards you can really be specific with your guest and they will really feel like you appreciated their gift to you.
3. Choose Cards That Match: Cards that match the style and theme of your wedding are important because at first glance, everyone will know immediately who the card is from and what it’s about. If they don’t get around to reading your card for a long time, they’ll still know that they’re thanked.
4. It’s a Job For The Both of You – Some people think that the job is for just the pride or just the groom. It is for both of you. When you write you wedding thank you’s you realize how many people made your wedding what it was. It is good for both of you to take time and show your appreciation.
5. A Small Gift In Return – This isn’t saying that you need to go and buy gifts for all of your guest. You are newly weds and people understand that you don’t have a lot of money to through around. I just think it is a nice gesture when there is something a little more than a thank you card. Maybe a photo of you two on the beach from your honeymoon, or maybe just a card with a quote on it. Just try to show them that you are grateful for all their support.
